Getting Your Palm Beach Area Home Ready to Go on the Market Just After the Holidays

Getting Your Palm Beach Area Home Ready to Go on the Market After the Holidays

Traditionally, selling a home just after the holidays can be more of a challenge because sales are usually slower this time of year. However, when you own a luxury property in a sought-after market like Palm Beach County, finding the right buyer may be more about getting the word out to the right audience. Here are some tips for getting your Palm Beach area home ready to go on the market just after holidays.

Start with a Local Luxury Real Estate Agent

As you begin to plan to put your home up for sale, it is best to do so with the assistance of an area real estate agent with experience and expertise in your market. Selling a luxury property requires specific knowledge. You want to work with someone who understands the clientele and how to present your residence in the best light. Having local knowledge is crucial because your agent will have insight into the market and community and can connect you with the best real estate attorneys for your transaction.

The Palm Beach County Market

If you are selling a high-end property in Palm Beach County, you have chosen an excellent time.  In short, the luxury home market is booming here. A review of the third quarter’s reports show that Palm Beach County single-family home luxury transactions went up by 13.9% with luxury condominium sales increasing by 12%. When asked about the figures, JTHS-MIAMI President Kim Price was quoted as saying “Palm Beach real estate remains a top destination for luxury buyers.” Ms. Price also stated that “Interest from high earners in tax burdened states and declining mortgage rates continue to drive demand in the South Florida real estate market.” The third quarter report data also showed that luxury residential housing supply was lower than in the previous quarters making Palm Beach County a luxury seller’s market.

Getting Your Home Ready

Although it’s just after the holiday season, your property may still move quickly. Especially, if there are not as many luxury homes available at the time you go on the MLS. Additionally, some interested parties may be concluding visits to the area for vacation with plans to look at homes. Having your home priced correctly and ready to show could put you in the right place at the right time.

If you are aware of any repairs or cosmetic issues, it’s best to address them before putting your home on the market. Your agent should be able to help you identify the best service companies to complete your projects. You can also work with a professional stager to order your home. Since the holidays are over, you want to remove any seasonal décor and have your home ready to show.
