According to the city’s website, Boynton Beach is the third-largest municipality in Palm Beach and home to approximately 78,000 people. However, with the recent flood of new residents moving into Palm Beach County, that estimate may be low. This lovely seaside community has sunny beaches, recreational centers, parks, shopping, and dining for everyone’s tastes. Here are some of the latest developments in Boynton Beach:
New Restaurants
Boynton Beach has an array of new dining options. Recently Cucina Moderna opened its doors in Boynton Beach. This Italian eatery offers pizza, cocktails, seafood, desserts, and several more delicious options. Already beloved in Wellington, Cucina Moderna is expected to become a fast favorite with the Boynton Beach crowd. Martinis Tuscan Bar and Grill also recently opened in the area. This restaurant offers customers traditional Italian foods and wine selections. Those looking to experience unconventional Asian frozen desserts, waffles, and other treats in an upscale environment, will enjoy the artistic and unique offerings of the newly opened Kasai & Koori.
Chez Andrea Gourmet Provence
One of the most exciting developments in the Boynton Beach is news that celebrity chef Andrea Jourdan is opening a new fine dining establishment in the community. In her native Canada, Ms. Jourdan is famous for her published recipes, cookbooks, television appearances, writing, and expertise in fine foods. The well-known chef has worked all over the world, hosted cooking programs, and is sought after for her professional skills and knowledge of high-end cuisine. With the opening of Chez Andrea Gourmet Provence, discerning Boynton Beach patrons will be able to enjoy a culinary experience created by a master chef.
Commercial Real Estate Developments
Construction is ongoing at Tuscan Gardens Delray Beach. According to the builder, this property will be a planned unit development providing a continuum of senior care within the proposed multi-story, congregate living facility. This community will offer independent and assisted living spaces as well as memory care. The timing of this development is good, as the demand for 55 and up residential communities is expected to remain high in this part of Florida.
Like many other Palm Beach County communities, Boynton Beach is having to grapple with rapid growth and the need for housing. Presently the Terra Nova project, a plan to build 212 apartments and 23,665 square feet of commercial space on an 18-acre site west of Delray Beach, is creating controversy in the community.
According to reports, the developer’s plan for Terra Nova is expected to be met with major opposition when it goes to a public hearing for the county’s approval. The Common Sense Development Coalition is a group consisting of more than 25 area communities and an Orthodox synagogue that formed last year for the express purpose of opposing Terra Nova. The group expects more than 200 area residents to attend the public hearing. Many of whom will testify against the project on the basis that the proposed apartment buildings are too tall, and that the development will create added traffic and congestion to an already burdened area.
