The Springsteen Connection in Palm Beach

Although Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa are frequent visitors to Palm Beach County, the famous couple have not relocated to Florida. The pair have reportedly wintered in Wellington, Florida, for years where they go to enjoy the Winter Equestrian Festival and to watch their daughter Jessica, an accomplished equestrienne, compete.

Max Weinberg and the Delray Beach Planning and Zoning Board

The latest news is that The Boss’s friend and longtime E Street bandmate, drummer Max Weinberg, has just been appointed the City of Delray Beach’s Planning and Zoning Board. Weinberg and his wife, Becky, have been involved in several Palm Beach County real estate deals in recent years. The couple reportedly bought their current residence, a British Colonial in Delray, in 2017 for $4 million. The 6-bedroom, 5.5 bath home on Seaspray Avenue is now listed for $5.2 million. However, the couple reports that they plan to downsize and remain in Delray Beach.

In August, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and bandleader for Conan O’Brien’s Late Night and The Tonight Show was appointed by City commissioners for a two-year term on the Planning and Zoning Board. Weinberg stated in his application: I’d like to serve the community with an eye to the future growth and livability of the city. I am a long-range thinker, a necessary requirement of the position. As a property owner and as an individual with a vested interest in the future growth of the city, I have followed with interest the desires of the various constituencies that comprise the city. All need to be heard and have their applications reasonably and thoroughly evaluated.”

The Delray Beach resident also reportedly said, “Big picture thinking and a dedication to detail are what you bring to the music. In my real estate avocation, I take the concept of due diligence very seriously. With this new responsibility I’m going to do my best to apply that experience to benefit the citizens of Delray Beach and other interested parties that come before the board.”

According to a recent report, Weinberg has bought or built almost 40 houses and appeared before numerous planning and zoning boards throughout the United States. He has a reputation for diligently researching real estate records and information and understands the importance of being a planning and zoning board member.
